ANALYSIS
Drive
Simulate vehicle movement along a defined path. Switch between Forward and Reverse modes, control driving speed, and use options like Preview Path Direction and Turn Wheels on Stop. Configure turning circle calculations and define the minimum turning radius for precise maneuvering.
Swept path analyses are treated as custom objects, allowing easy modifications using standard CAD commands. You can edit parameters directly in the Properties palette for fast adjustments, including colors, transparency, and linetypes. You can even extract the hatch to quickly calculate its area, or control visibility settings to decide exactly what should be displayed or hidden in your drawing.
Continue Drive
Continue an existing swept path analysis with interactive vehicle drive. Pick up from where you left off and keep driving the vehicle forward or in reverse to finish your design.
Guided Drive
Generate a swept path analysis by following an existing polyline. Select the element in your drawing, choose the vehicle from the library, and the software will automatically create the path along your chosen route. You can then simply adjust the analysis by moving grips and customize hatch settings for clear, professional results.
Vertical Clearance
With this command, you can generate a vertical clearance analysis along an existing swept path entity, such as a line, arc, polyline, or spline. After selecting the path and choosing a vehicle from the Vehicle Library, the tool generates a vertical clearance envelope, helping you evaluate potential height restrictions along the selected route.
REPORT
Graph
Visualize wheel steering angles in real time with dynamic reporting. The X-axis shows stations, driving speed, and direction (forward or reverse) for each segment. The Y-axis displays the wheel steering angles. The graph is a custom entity called KobiSweptPathGraph. Its X and Y scale, label height, and view color can be adjusted in the drawing.
Vehicle Profile
Insert a detailed profile of your vehicle directly into the drawing. The profile includes all essential parameters such as vehicle length, width, and height, as well as axle configuration and steering data. This ensures your design always reflects the exact dimensions and characteristics of the selected vehicle.
Conflict Detection
Automatically detect collisions between the vehicle path and obstacles. The tool highlights conflict points in real time using red markers wherever the vehicle envelope, axle traces, or envelope safety buffer intersect with objects. As the path or obstacles change, the analysis updates instantly, ensuring a clear and collision-free route.
MANAGE
Navigator
Manage all horizontal and vertical analyses in a centralized interface. Generate detailed reports, continue simulations, create animations, and zoom in on specific analyses for greater efficiency.
Vehicle Library
The vehicle library offers a variety of predefined vehicle types and trailers. It allows you to edit existing vehicle parameters, create custom vehicles, and define both horizontal and vertical vehicle bodies. With options to configure front and rear axles, steering, and couplings, it provides flexibility for precise vehicle customization.
Settings
This command allows you to define General Settings Templates and configure their settings individually for Horizontal and Vertical analyses, Turn Predictions, and Graph display.

5. How many updates are included in subscription?
All updates are included in the price of Kobi Swept Path. This includes updates, compatibility with the latest AutoCAD, Civil 3D and BricsCAD versions, plus new features released during the year.
6. Will Kobi Swept Path still work if I update Civil 3D, AutoCAD or BricsCAD?
Yes. Kobi Swept Path is regularly updated to support the latest versions of Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD and BricsCAD. All the updates are included in your active subscription.
7. Can I try Kobi Swept Path for free?
Yes. You can download a 15-day free trial here. No credit card required.
Please note that in the trial version, vehicles are intentionally limited to Test Mode. This means you can use all features and workflows exactly as in the paid license, but you’ll have access to only one sample vehicle (a car with a boat trailer based on AASHTO 2011). This setup allows you to fully explore the interface, tools, and analysis capabilities of Kobi Swept Path while keeping the vehicle library restricted. To unlock the complete set of standards-based vehicles, simply activate your licensed version.
8. Does the trial version include all functionalities?
The trial version includes the same functionalities as the full license; however, it provides only one vehicle in trial mode – a car with boat trailer based on AASHTO 2011 (Imperial and Metric). This setup is designed to let you evaluate the workflow and interface of Kobi Swept Path, as well as compare it with other similar software. To access full library of standard-based vehicles, please activate the licensed version.

9. How do I convert my free trial to a paid subscription?
You can purchase a license here. For enterprise licensing, please contact us at sales@kobilabs.com.
To activate your license:
- Open AutoCAD / Civil 3D / BricsCAD.
- On the Kobi Swept Path ribbon, click License (far-right).

You can move path by using grips, edit envelope, axle traces, linetype, color, and hatch all directly through Properties panel.
- Simulation Navigator – Manage all horizontal and vertical analyses in one place. By using right click you can zoom to simulation, select, hide, run an animation, continue simulation, insert vehicle profile, generate graphs, rename or simply delete the analysis.
- Extensive vehicle library – Kobi Swept Path comes with national vehicle libraries for US, New Zealand, Australia, France, Germany, and Slovenia. Additional libraries may be added on request and wider interest.
- Envelope Safety Buffer – Add a customizable clearance offset around the vehicle path to ensure safer designs and compliance with standards.
- Animation – Visualize vehicle movement with dynamic animations, place stamps along the path, and present designs with confidence.
By combining usability, advanced functionality, and efficient workflows, Kobi Swept Path delivers a cost-effective alternative to traditional swept path software.
12. Is it possible to create custom vehicles?
Yes. Kobi Swept Path makes it easy to create custom vehicles by duplicating one from the library and adjusting it to your needs.
To create a custom vehicle:
- Select a base vehicle from the library and duplicate it.
- Choose the motor vehicle type and add one or multiple trailers.
- Enter custom parameters, including horizontal and vertical outlines.
- Define any number of axles, fixed or steerable.
- For steerable axles, specify the Effective Wheelbase (EWB).
Please note that in the trial version, the vehicle is intentionally deformed and does not follow any recognized standards. It is designed solely to let you test the workflow and interface of Kobi Swept Path
13. The vehicle appears too small or too large in my drawing. Can I scale it?
Yes. Vehicle size depends on the drawing units set in General Settings.
To change units:
- Open the Settings command on the Kobi Swept Path ribbon.
- Go to the General tab.
- Adjust the Drawing Units parameter.

Important:
- In imperial libraries, vehicles are defined in feet.
➡ If you set the drawing units to inches, vehicles will appear 12× larger in the drawing. - In metric libraries, vehicles are defined in meters.
➡ If you set the drawing units to millimeters, vehicles will appear 1000× larger in the drawing.

14. Can vehicle libraries be stored on a shared network location?
Yes. Vehicle libraries, general settings, and vehicle report blocks can be stored on a shared server so all team members have access to the same, up-to-date data.
Each user only needs to set the correct folder paths in General Settings (via the Settings command on the ribbon).
