Our Story
We develop productivity software for engineers, architects, and designers using Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, and BricsCAD – helping AEC professionals automate repetitive tasks and work more efficiently.
KobiLabs started from a simple observation: even the best CAD and BIM platforms cannot cover every real-world need. There is always a gap between what software provides and what engineers actually need to get their work done efficiently.
We understood this challenge firsthand. KobiLabs was founded in 2016 by civil engineers and software developers who combined engineering knowledge with software expertise to create practical solutions for everyday engineering workflows.
This unique perspective allows us to understand both sides: the challenges engineers face when working on real projects and the possibilities of creating software that helps solve them.
What started as a small collection of productivity tools has grown into a suite of software products used today by more than 30,000 engineers worldwide.
Today, we develop productivity tools for Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, and BricsCAD, and we are proud to be an Autodesk Authorized Developer and Bricsys Developer.
Our team of 17 engineers and software developers combines more than 200 years of experience in engineering, CAD/BIM technologies, and software development.
We believe engineering software should be built around real workflows, not unnecessary complexity. Our goal is to create reliable tools that deliver real value, improve productivity, and help engineers focus on design rather than repetitive tasks.
Alongside our own products, we also provide custom CAD and BIM software development services for companies that need specialized solutions tailored to their engineering processes.

The People Behind KobiLabs
We are a team of engineers and software developers who understand the industries we build for. Our team brings together experience from civil engineering, architectural engineering, traffic engineering, surveying, and software development.
Many of our team members have worked with CAD and BIM technologies for years – some from the engineering side, designing and managing real projects, and others from the software side, developing solutions for engineering applications.
This combination of engineering knowledge and software expertise helps us create tools that are practical, efficient, and built around real user needs.

We develop software based on real workflows. Many of our product ideas come from challenges we have experienced ourselves or feedback from engineers using our tools in everyday projects. We focus on automating repetitive tasks, reducing manual work, and improving productivity.
We continuously improve our products. Our software evolves through regular updates, new features, and performance improvements. Many enhancements are based directly on feedback from engineers who use our tools every day.

Milestones
KobiLabs founded
KobiLabs was founded by Uroš Barlič, Ivo Žagar, Andrej Kogovšek, and Robert Gadbaw, a group of civil engineers and developers who believed engineering software could be made better. Interestingly, the first plans for KobiLabs were created in Las Vegas. What started as a conversation during a trip grew into a company developing CAD and BIM tools used by engineers around the world.
Autodesk ecosystem partnership
KobiLabs became an Autodesk Authorized Developer.
First Kobi Toolkit products released
The first Kobi Toolkit solutions were introduced for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Civil 3D, helping engineers automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity.
KobiLabs became a Bricsys Developer
KobiLabs became a Bricsys Developer, expanding its development capabilities for BricsCAD users.
Release of Kobi Toolkit for AutoCAD
KobiLabs expanded its product portfolio with tools designed for Autodesk AutoCAD workflows.
Kobi Signs & Stripes released
KobiLabs launched Kobi Signs & Stripes for the Slovenian market, later expanding functionality with additional libraries for international markets.
Release of Kobi Toolkit for BricsCAD
KobiLabs introduced Kobi Toolkit for BricsCAD, presenting the solution at the Bricsys Partner Conference.
Expanding into infrastructure design
After years of development, KobiLabs launched Kobi Swept Path, expanded Kobi Signs & Stripes with international libraries, and introduced Kobi Reporting to support its solutions for road, traffic, and infrastructure design workflows.
