# Edit object

Command description

The Edit Objects panel provides Edit, Erase, Copy, Join, and Split commands for Civil Modeler objects. Use these commands instead of editing the generated faces or mesh elements individually.

To edit an object

  1. Click Kobi Civil Modeler tab > Edit Objects panel > Edit .

  2. Select a Civil Modeler object in the drawing.

  3. Change its general settings, template or parametric values, station range, targets, or additional settings.

  4. Click Apply to rebuild the object and keep the dialog open for inspection.

  5. Click OK to keep the changes and close the dialog. Click Cancel to close the dialog without applying unapplied changes.

The dialog title identifies the selected object type, for example Edit Solids from Drawing, Edit Wall, Edit Lane, or Edit Grading. The object preview and model update help confirm the template orientation before the edit is accepted.

To erase an object

Click Erase and select the Civil Modeler object to remove it. The command removes the modeled object; it does not remove the source baseline or unrelated drawing geometry.

To copy an object

Click Copy , select the Civil Modeler object, and follow the command-line prompts to place a copy. Review the copied object's baseline, station range, and target assignments after copying.

To join objects

Click Join and select compatible adjacent Civil Modeler objects. Use Join when the objects represent consecutive parts of the same modeled element and use compatible definitions.

To split an object

Click Split , select the Civil Modeler object, and specify the split location or station. Civil Modeler creates separate editable objects on each side of the split.
