Tools to automate assembly and assembly view creation.

Revit Assembly Options - Kobi Toolkit for Revit

  • Create Assemblies Create Assemblies icon

    Creates an assembly from each of the selected instances. This tool updates the coordinate system of the assembly according to the instances main direction (e.g. X axis of a wall).

    Select instances > Click on Kobi Toolkit tab > Go to Modify panel > Assembly drop-down > Select Create Assemblies

  • Create Assembly Views Create Assembly Views icon

    Displays a dialog, where user can choose the view direction and placement of up to four views for each assembly. The tool creates views and places them on the sheets according to your settings.

    • Assemblies: Display of a list of created assemblies - Select assemblies to be displayed in assembly view

      • Use toolbar to: Selection Options

        • Select all nodes

        • Deselect all nodes

        • Invert checked nodes

        • Collapse selected nodes

        • Expand selected nodes

        • Collapse all nodes

        • Expand all nodes

    • View Orientation: Select up to four views to be displayed in the assembly view. Select a view from the drop-down list.

    • Sheet Setup: Options to set Alignment, Offsets, and Titleblock Type

    Select instances > Click on Kobi Toolkit tab > Go to Modify panel > Assembly drop-down > Select Create Assembly Views > Set up options in dialog window > Click OK

Create Assemblies Utility creates an assembly from each of the selected instances and optionally includes hosted and/or bounding instances.

  • Assembly Create Settings

    • Select only: Creates assembly only for selected instances.
    • Include hosted instances: Creates assembly from a selected instance with hosted instances as well (Example: Windows in the wall)
    • Include instances bound by selected instances: Creates assembly from selected instances, including instances bound by selected one. Categories of bound instances can be selected from the Category list.
    • Parameter for assembly name: Define the parameter for assembly name.
    • Offset for includes: Define offset.

    Select instances > Click on Kobi Toolkit tab > Go to Modify panel > Assembly drop-down > Select Assemblies Utilities > Set up options in dialog window > Click OK

Displays a dialog, where user can choose one or more assemblies and create multiple views for each assembly. The tool creates views and places them on the sheets according to your settings. It is possible to save, create, edit, delete, import, and export Assembly View Definitions.

  • Assemblies: Display of a list of created assemblies - Select assemblies to be displayed in assembly view

  • Definitions: Options to save, create, edit, delete, import, and export Assembly View Definitions. With definitions, user can select different view directions and placements for each assembly (including hosted instances and instances bound by selected instances).

    • Use this button to: Selection Options
      • Save all templates
      • Create a new template
      • Edit selected template
      • Delete selected template
      • Export selected templates
      • Import template

Selecting a Definition and pressing the Edit button will open a new dialog box. Here user can define views and their position on the sheet.

  • Assembly View Definition: Define the Defitnition Name, Titleblock (with the option to delete existing titleblock) and set Sheet Prefix and Name.

    • Viewports: Shows a list of Viewports that will be placed on the Assembly Sheet. User can edit the selected View by clicking it and editing it on the right side of the dialog box (Viewport Definition). Selected Viewports can also be duplicated or deleted.
  • Viewport Definition: Allows user to edit the selected viewport. Here user can define/edit Name, Position, Offset, View direction, and select tag template. It is also possible to add View templates – Select a View template from the list and click on Add.

Select instances > Click on the Kobi Toolkit tab > Go to the Modify panel > Assembly drop-down > Select Create Assemblies Views Utility
