# Extended Polyline
Command Description
The "Extended Polyline" command is used to create 3D Polylines, which consist of sequentially connected Line segments, Arc segments or a combination of both. At the start point of the 3D Polyline, the user enters the initial Elevation, and then the Elevation or Grade to each created segment.
The 3D Polyline created with this command can be displayed in drawing as a standard (true) 3D Polyline or as an Extended Polyline.
The "Enable Extended Polylines" setting hides all vertices that lie on the 3D Arc segment, except the start and end point (see figure below). This allows user to specify Elevations/Grades and move the grips of 3D Arc segments.
Both the left and right figure below show the same 3D Polyline, which is made of Line and 3D Arc segments. For the 3D Polyline in the left figure, the "Enable Extended Polyline" option is enabled, so only start and end point of the 3D Arc are visible.

Elevations and grades of 3D Polylines can be edited with the Elevation Editor tool, described in the next section.
To enable Extended Polylines
- Click Kobi Toolkit for AutoCAD tab > Kobi Toolkit for AutoCAD > General Settings
. - Select an option "Enable Extended Polylines" in a dialog and click "OK".

To create Extended Polylines
Click Kobi Toolkit for AutoCAD tab > Geometry > Extended Polyline
.Specify start position of a 3D Polyline. Define start elevation.
In the next step, two options are available:
a. Select point
i. Specify second point of a line segment and enter its elevation or grade.
b. Arc
i. Line – switch to a line segment and specify its next point.
ii. Second – specify the second point through which 3D Arc passes.
iii. Direction – define orientation of the 3D Arc.
iv. Radius – enter 3D Arc radius or specify in the drawing.
Options in the next step depend on the selected option in a previous step.
If a line segment is created as a previous step, then following options are available in the next step:
a. Arc – switch to an Arc segment and specify its end point or select any other option from the command line. Possible options are described in a section 5.
b. Undo - undo the last drawn segment.
c. Length - enter the length to extend previous segment of 3D Polyline.
If a 3D Arc segment is created in a previous step, then following options are available in the next step:
a. Line – switch to a Line segment.
i. Arc – switch to the 3D Arc segment.
ii. Undo – undo the last drawn segment.
iii. Length – enter the length of a Line segment that will be created tangential to a previous Arc segment.
b. Undo – undo the last drawn segment.
c. Second – specify the second point through which 3D Arc passes.
d. Direction – select direction of a 3D Arc segment.
e. Radius – enter the radius of a 3D Arc segment.
When three or more segments are created, the command offers an option to close the 3D Polyline.
